Based in Richmond, Virginia, (USA) Justin James Reed’s artistic practice explores phenomenological experiences across ecological and supernatural realms through the mediums of photography and experimental book making.
His work is included in numerous collections, notably the Library of Congress Rare Book and Special Collections, Yale University Art Gallery, Foam Fotografiemuseum Collection, The New York Public Library, MoMA Library, Bayerische Staatsbibliothek, and Stanford University Libraries, amongst others. He is Professor Emeritus at Virginia Commonwealth University, School of the Arts and taught in the Department of Art & Art History at The University of Richmond.
