Don’t Die

2008 - 2010

Don’t Die explores different tactics to activate a photograph. The series allowed Reed to develop alternative picture making methods that didn’t involve solely going out into the world and photographing something. Instead, the work incorporates constructed images, digital manipulation and, in some cases, physical alteration. Through these investigations the surface of a photograph itself is brought to the forefront, allowing for varying interpretations of meaning and interrogating inherent representational qualities of the medium.
